Seems strong but will it last?

I have an old Majestic tripod with no plastic parts. Everything is made of steel and aluminum. He is about 50 years old and in all that time he has never let me down. I think it will be somewhere in 50 years. This bike stand is not very good. It is made from very good metal parts but has plastic connectors which I doubt as I have seen similar ones broken. And forget about gluing or welding. Will not work. On the other hand, it won't see as much action as my tripod, and I won't scatter it around. So the best thing for me to do is to order spare parts now, before it is discontinued in a few years. So far it's strong enough. Seems to hold bikes well. The included small tool tray cannot be flipped over or backwards and can only be attached to the top vertical part of the stand where it seems to get in the way. It should slide up and down, but it's too tight even without a lock. I threw it aside. I still have to get used to the bike mount. Holds very well, but only after fully tightening. Especially on a vertical pipe. The stand came with a small wrench and two hex keys for assembly. The instructions were not written by a good technical writer. But the drawings were good enough to understand what to do.
