Grain does not correspond to the picture
I was going to stain and varnish them and thought the texture would be like a picture where the grains run in one direction like a piece of solid wood. But the balls are 2 halves glued with a very clear line around the perimeter and no grain at all. Also, the north/south pole areas had to be ground due to the lower quality of the turning process. They will not serve my original purpose. I'm not sending them back because I can use them for something else and paint them black.
- Quality - solid wooden ball made of high-quality birch wood, glued and then sanded.
