This was purchased to prevent the bathroom door from banging against the large shower stall bracket when opened, a shackled device sometimes seen in motel rooms. When I bought it I was concerned about the rigidity of the base mount due to the single bolt attachment - would that be enough? When opening the box, there was a big surprise: the description of the device does not mention the protruding stand. from the clamshell portion of the bracket about a quarter inch below the base of the unit. This is for stiffening, which is what I was concerned about. Installation consists of first drilling a hole in the floor the same diameter as the protruding post at the location of the doorstop. This fits snugly into the bracket and then the mounting screw is attached. This doorstop works great. The workstand makes it a very well-designed little device - and it's solid, which is the go-to device if app and design are what you're after.
