Review on Enhance Your Cycling Experience with the PERGEAR Carbon Fiber Lightweight Bicycle Water Bottle Cage by Ron Patel

Light as a feather for sports

I'm impressed when a company understates their products instead of bragging about undelivered claims. In the literature, these bottle cages are given as 22 grams each, which is damn little. Upon arrival, I weighed each without the associated bolts (my 2014 Felt Z-85 road bike already has stock aluminum bolts). One weighed 18 grams, the other 16 grams. Only two cells 34 grams! It's 2 grams lighter than the one bottle cage I replace (it's cracked. Looks like Bakelite, like plastic). I now have two super light cages that weigh less than the one cage I'm replacing. That is very cool. It's real carbon fiber (hence the low weight) in a minimalist design that saves weight. How durable they are and how long they last is yet to be determined, but honestly I don't care if they go bad after a few years. Whenever I make changes to my bike, it needs to save weight or I won't make the change. That's the only rule I follow. All my improvements make my bike lighter. These bottle cages fit perfectly into this scheme. A few grams here or there, who cares, right? Well, my experience tells me that those few grams here and there accumulate over the years. I've lost over a pound on the recent upgrades and I can feel it on climbs so I'll grab a gram. Glossy finish. The minimalist design makes it easy to take your water bottle out of the cage and put it back in while you're driving. This is an estimate. If anyone knows of a lighter bottle cage, I'm all ears. But I never found it.
