Handy: Electrical

At $11.19 this tester was a solid value. We used it to check the outlets in a rented home before moving in, in case one of them needed service. However, when we last rented it, we noticed that the most used plugs in the living room, dining room and bedroom were so worn that the plugs just wanted to fall out. Just making sure it doesn't happen again was worth the cost. So it also served to test outlets for plug integrity, how far it holds the plug, as well as proper wiring/grounding tests. The light indicator is easy to read, with a "key" printed on the front for convenience. Testing the actual output voltage for sockets along the floorboard (most of them of course) has to be looked at pretty close to a straight line, so it's a bit of a hassle, but at a price that's quite acceptable and to be expected.

Pros
  • ▲ADVANCED SOCKET TESTER▲- An advanced socket tester to quickly determine if the cords are properly connected to a socket. RCD/GFCI Test Button Design - Socket for correct wiring and RCD/GFCI disconnect function. The socket tester can test the protection system to ensure the electrical safety of the home. Ideal for protecting your safety from electric shock.
