Gorilla strap. Cannibal test, mutant tested. What is on the picture? Gorilla tape holding my Kia Optima's passenger side mirror completely shattered after my ex-wife taped it to the garage wall of our apartment. So what's the deal? Well, the mirror weighs about 3-4 pounds and would otherwise hang loose from the wires. The gorilla ribbon in the photo will keep this mirror firmly in place for three years. It's been three years in Dallas, Texas: a terribly hot, muggy summer full of sunshine. Covering thousands of miles at toll speeds against a 65-75 mph headwind. And yet the bond still holds. So good that I can still use the electric motor to position the mirror. Der Spiegel even passed three state exams without comment. A NOTICE. As you can see from the photos, my example above is of a black gorilla strap. I don't know how well white holds up compared to black in terms of sunlight and heat. But after going through several roles of each, I came to the conclusion that white's strength and stickiness is higher. It may be my imagination, but white also seems thicker and stiffer (which may or may not be a good thing depending on your goals).
