Most Nintendo Switch portable carrying cases have a card holder/divider that separates the accessories from the Nintendo Switch console, with custom fabric slots for bags. So far I've used the Nintendo Switch Sheikah Slate Carrying Case that came with the Zelda Breath of the Wild Collector's Edition to transport my games. . As you know, every Switch gaming card has huge exposed pins on the back. In the HORI case, there is no contact between the rear plastic cover and the pins. Yes, the back of the carrying case is padded, but friction from excessive friction can scratch or damage game data, or the fabric on the back can rub against pens that may get caught in the Nintendo Switch game slot. - Safer. Playing cards snap into the hori sleeve without worrying about it falling out. In the carrying case you sometimes have to lift and/or wiggle the playing card. In addition, the fabric can stretch with long-term use, which can cause the game card to slip during transport. -More slot machines. The tote bags I've seen so far have 8 to 19 game slots instead of 24* in a HORI case - easier to browse through games. Carrying bags usually cover 3/4 of the portrait format of the playing card. This may not be a problem if you have multiple games, but if you have multiple it can be difficult to manage/remember which slot corresponds to which game as it can be seen at a glance that the top 10 % of the game cards I have left have the red Nintendo Switch logo at the top. Yes, you can pull out each one in turn if you forget, but that's not very convenient. With the HORI case you can see full game map coverage and it will be easier for you, your friends and family to pick and choose without taking all the games out of your slot or just every game you have verbally to mention . The only downside I see is that this is a separate accessory and is not built into the carrying case itself. Regardless, I think the pros outweigh this con in comparison. Additional Notes:- * The case can technically hold 24 game cards unless you include a Micro SD holder adapter that occupies a game slot. So if you plan to use an SD holder, the number of physical games you can store increases to 23. The gaming case is very compact and fits in the palm of your hand. If you have a lot of games, take care of them because if you lose them you will lose up to 24 games. Overall I am very impressed with this case. Will keep my Nintendo Switch library for years or until I fill up. If that happens I might buy another one after seeing what's on the market at the time.
