Review on πŸŽ₯ IFOOTAGE Fluid Drag Pan Head: Professional Tripod Head for DSLR Cameras, Camcorders, Monopods, and Tripods by Young Toulson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality fluid head and tripod

Ordered separately, received Gazelle TA5 tripod first. Revain was out of stock for the liquid head and I received it about 2 weeks later when it was back in stock. I like the tripod very much. I got an aluminum tripod instead of a carbon fiber tripod. I like something firmer, more permanent, personal preference. Yes, it's heavier, but I can handle it to get nice, clean, crisp images. Also, I train well, I don't need a gym :o). There are rubber inserts on the bottom of the tripod legs for strong, non-slip and stable placement. These pieces can be rotated and the pointed spike opened for easy placement on rocky or muddy/sandy/uneven surfaces. As you can see the legs have 3 levels of extension for uneven surfaces encountered in the wild. When the legs are released with the quick release tabs, the legs slide out easily. The tongues are easily fixed and fix the legs in the chosen position - they do not slip. If you remove the main stand, the tripod can "fall" pretty close to the ground for those groundbreaking shots (last image). Make sure you have a remote control cable when using such a tripod :o). Now for the fluid head. As for the fluid head, it suits me perfectly. The head has pitch and yaw capability and is fairly smooth for panoramic shots, although there may be some products better suited for this specific purpose. On the left side of the camera/fluid head (shown) next to the I-Footage logo is a red button to release the camera/slider from the fluid head. (The slide sensor attaches to the bottom of the camera and a 1/4" or 3/8" screw with the thread used in your camera is supplied). On the right side of the camera (pictured) just above the Komodo 5 logo is a red dot with an arrowhead screw that pushes the sensor slide against the fluid head when the fluid head and camera are placed on a tripod - balanced. In combination with the red release button, the camera can be easily removed from the liquid head. Another nice thing is that the camera doesn't slip out of the fluid head (in either direction, forward or backward) until the red button is pressed, so your camera won't accidentally fall out until that red button is pressed to free it. . Next to the tripod's bubble level (shown) is a red teardrop-shaped thumbscrew that controls the pan movement. Just below the red trigger (large black wing nut with white lock and unlock arrow indicators) you can tilt the camera up or down. Two red "knobs": One is for pitch/yaw, and the bottom one is for raising and lowering the center column. The handle can be installed on either side of the valve. I give 4 stars for ease of use. I wish the red teardrop caps were a little bigger. Ergonomically, they are a bit small, but serve their purpose. I know I know I went into the details but I believe they are both products from IFOOTAGE and I have both why not just a review together. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about buying these products. I think they are very well designed. Good luck and happy picture!
