Broke after a year and had to be replaced. Does not write or read data. I don't know if it was the hard drive that failed or if my wife left her laptop on the floor for the kids to walk on. To be fair, the screen also had to be replaced. But on the other hand, HD is located at the bottom of the laptop under the motherboard. Like I said, I can't say if it really just failed.
