I don't have much countertop space so it's perfect. I bought this to replace a larger block that had burned out just a few months after using it. In hindsight it was too big for a countertop. This little gadget is perfect for making vegan butter, mayonnaise, dressings, etc. There are 2 tiny holes on the top that allow me to slowly add oils. One of the holes is for air, so do not put oil in both holes. The latest processing machine had a long chute for adding oils, and while I thought I was adding them slowly, I probably wasn't. The results for what I use it for are much better. I like the weight of the base, it doesn't move. I like the size for slicing onions, nuts, etc. It's a lot easier to clean because of the size, so I use it a lot more. If necessary, you can also turn the blade to the blunt side. All in all perfect for my needs. Great quality and I would buy it again.
