Cuisinart made too much money on this product

Many years ago I used a Cuisinart mini cooker. It was a good product. However, it is a bitch. It is poorly made from inferior materials. Will it grate hard cheese? no He will get stuck. Will he grind garlic in oil? No, you only get chunks. Is the blade correct? No, it leaves a gap under the blade that collects whatever you want to process. Stay away.

Pros
  • Nice to look at
Cons
  • Annoying

Exactly what I wanted for pesto

I grow my own basil for homemade pesto. The Vitamix did a good job but at 4 it's too big for the pesto and the blades aren't handy to remove the pesto. The DCL 1 is the perfect size and comes apart so I can remove the pesto. I have a large Cuisinart stand mixer that is 30 years old and this one seems to be of similar quality. I flipped the blades over to grind the nuts and it worked great but be careful with the blades they are sharp.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • I'm worried

Not comparable to Mini Prep Plus

I needed a replacement blade for my Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus but after looking at the prices for a new blade I decided to get a new one. The blade on this one is reversible depending on what you're using it for, but I won't touch the sharp blade any more than necessary. Who wants to decide which knife is best suited for their purpose? Attempted to cut dried rosemary with great failure. There is no handle on the bowl and the bowl doesn't hold as much as the Mini Prep Plus. If you're wonderingโ€ฆ

  • This is great

Thank you for making the same model and not ruining the perfection!

I love, love, LOVE this device! I had an old one that I used all the time and I was afraid that one day it would break. (It's not.) This model is exactly the same, although the super-sharp blades took a little getting used to! (My old one wasn't sharpened.) I use it for dressing salads, "grinding" everything, which for me is usually ginger and garlic, chopping a lot of things, etc. The trick is not to stuff it too full, I like it it to the brim. It takes up very little space and if it is likeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • There's something to it

Perfect for what I need

I don't have much countertop space so it's perfect. I bought this to replace a larger block that had burned out just a few months after using it. In hindsight it was too big for a countertop. This little gadget is perfect for making vegan butter, mayonnaise, dressings, etc. There are 2 tiny holes on the top that allow me to slowly add oils. One of the holes is for air, so do not put oil in both holes. The latest processing machine had a long chute for adding oils, and while I thought I wasโ€ฆ

  • Quick change

Seems ok for small needs

I had a full blown food processor for many years, although I rarely used it. The last time I took it off the shelf I found that it no longer worked. As this is a seldom used unit I have decided not to spend money on a replacement. I recently saw Ree Drummond ("Pioneer Woman") use a mini food processor to mix the filling for stuffed eggs. It got me to research the product and I chose this product mainly because of the brand name. Pros: The device is small and compact, and relatively easy toโ€ฆ
