This machine has many working options. First, there are ample options for adjusting lighting and sound levels. If you want total darkness and silence in your room, you're going to have trouble with this (or any other type of air filtration). But if you can live with very light LED light and little noise, you'll be fine. And if you need a night light and/or white noise, that's fine too! Air quality color coding seems like a really cool feature. Mine has always shown mine as the cleanest setting. It's a bit hard to believe as we haven't had an air filter for many months and we have a dog. But it's hard to say. Besides, it's hard to say if it actually does anything. I believe it cleans as advertised but my allergies didn't seem to be getting any better. The Wi-Fi app doesn't really add functionality, so I didn't bother adding it to my phone. But if for some reason you want to manage this filter remotely, you have that option.
