I have to change my review a bit. I was very happy with the slab but after a few uses the bottom started to collapse a bit. The plate does not lie flat and when eating or cutting, the bottom presses down and pops out again. and it's kind of annoying. I suppose food can be taken off and placed on a plate but I like the idea of eating straight off it. I've also noticed some sort of scratch on the inside and I'm hoping it's not from microwave heating or the possibility of a fire. exposure to chemicals in food. I will continue my search for a microwaveable plate, although I am skeptical of the plastic in this use.
