I used this fabric in 1998 and never burned it. I love it. You can even iron velvet or the finest and finest fabrics. Without her I would never have used the iron. I bought from QVC or HSN in 1998 and have never looked back. It came in two packages at the time, I gave one to the seamstress and I'm still looking for the same thing. I even had a Rowenta iron that caught fire and survived. This is the best investment I've ever made. I only buy a new one because after so many years it has a hole in the top of the iron. I've tried probably 4 or 5 irons over the years because they don't make them the way they used to. My iron stays clean and the steam always comes out.
