Some areas of my city do not follow the grid and the roads are winding or at different angles. I used to have to stop every two blocks to get my phone out and check where I was going, get back on my bike, and stop again after a few blocks when I inevitably got lost again. The holder allows me to stay on the bike and move around throughout the ride. In combination with Google Maps, this makes my journeys much faster. The product itself is really safe. I was very hesitant to entrust my phone to such a pliable holder, but it fits the phone and bike very snugly. I sometimes have trouble pulling it off because it stays in place so firmly. Too bad I didn't put up with it for so long - it's the best bike accessory I've bought in the last year.
