Which glue?

I needed it for the collar of my black leather jacket (the entire outside of the lining). The material is good but the glue on the back is very bad! Where it stuck (about 70% of the area) it was like the very thin adhesive used on peel-off labels. The patch came off a day after I put it on. I went to Ace Hardware and bought permanent contact cement which I smeared on the collar and back of the patch. That works great!
