I have a little Jack Russell Terrier named Sparky. He is a PROFESSIONAL level villain. For a month I've been working with him on taking me off a leash for a walk. There are distractions, like other people or squirrels, that put him in a state where he just can't hear me, let alone listen to me. I bought these clickers because I saw them being used on a TV show. I know nothing about animal psychology and I don't understand why, but I was very surprised by Sparky's first walk with a new clicker in hand. The first time Sparky got distracted, I made a few clicks and he immediately stopped, looked at me, and returned to his seat. After a few walks, I almost never have to push. He has turned into a dog that the neighbors envy him for. This clicker gave me immediate positive results. I don't know why it works, but I'm certainly grateful for it.
