The laptop stand is quite simple and easy to use. However, it doesn't come with a booklet and it might not be intuitive for everyone, which can lead to broken parts if the stand or parts are accidentally moved. The construction is almost entirely plastic, so it's not the strongest, but it should do the job. The legs snap in fairly securely and are reinforced with metal, but the leg joints are all plastic and feel like a weak point if overstretched. . It's nice that you can use the stand with the legs folded in if you don't need that much height. Otherwise, you can open and lock the legs for more height. The base is made entirely of plastic but feels very solid. So if the laptop is flat, supporting the top is not a problem. There are two swing arms on the back of the base that can hold your phone or other small devices. My iPhone 8 (with case) fits my hand perfectly and there is a hole at the bottom so you can even plug in your phone while wearing it on your arm. The raisable and tiltable bottom plate is a bit thinner than the base plate, so it's a bit less durable. The only thing that raises the bottom panel is the metal bar shown in the product photos. Because it only rests on the center of the platter, the left and right edges of the platter may flex a bit due to the weight of the laptop. On wider laptops, the rubber pads on the bottom of your laptop may not even rest on the plastic baseplate, meaning the laptop is in direct contact with the plastic (I have a 2013 13-inch MacBook Pro for reference). 2 red silicone pads can be attached to the base plate, which prevent slipping on the smooth plastic and also lift the laptop off the base plate. The tab on the underside of the base panel (prevents the laptop from sliding forward) is a bit flimsy and can break over time if stretched too much or also by the weight of the laptop, especially when you use the maximum tilt angle and/or when you use a have a heavier laptop. Also, there is only one bar in the middle of the stand. The laptop is not the most stable. If there were two tabs (one in each bottom corner) it would feel a lot more secure. Overall, the laptop stand is pretty well made. better, but for what you pay for, there are many advantages. The laptop stand comes only in a shipping box, but not packed in another box with packing material to avoid damage in transit. Could be a bug though, so I'm not sure.
