Review on Sony WF-SP700N/W True Wireless Splash-Proof Noise-Cancelling Earbuds With Built-In Microphone (White) by Amy Maeva

I rarely write reviews (not many purchases!) but I've spent a little time researching this so thought I'd share my reviews. For comparison, I've been using AirPods for a few months and also own Bose in-ear headphones, which I mainly use on planes. in many ways it is PNC/ANC (noise reduction). Finally I can (just) listen to my own music in the gym without the crap playing in the background. You need to download the Sony app (free of course) which offers tons of equalizer options. People seem to be crazy about clear bass (some EQ options have it), which definitely adds a whole bunch of very low low frequencies, but it's not really in the original music. Personal preference, I'm not a fan but it's easy not to use it. Partly for the "vocals" setting in case anyone cares, whatever suits you. You can boost the bass without "clean bass" with great sound that rivals the depth of over-ear headphones. The buttons are real buttons and have a simple operating structure. I've never managed to get Airpods to do anything with the touchscreen. I have no idea why people turn on ambient sounds (at least for a long time), but it's there. I think he avoids taking them out. BIG PROBLEMS - Voice calls only go in mono (left ear). I have no idea why as the Airpods call in stereo. Hope this gets fixed! - If you use other non-music apps (e.g. games), the lag makes them almost unbearable to use. I mean it's like a full second or more, you have to take them off. Again, the AirPods are fine, so I'm hoping that can be fixed! [I tried disabling the equalizer app, didn't help.] If these two issues above were fixed, I'd probably give it 4.5 stars. SMALL nits. The case is a big buzzing case - I kept the Airpods case in my workout shorts. at the gym without noticing her. I will leave this item at home or in a hotel room before going to the gym. Also the revolving door/lid doesn't seem to last long for this earth, I expect it to break at some point. - The box contains two large headphones, one medium and one small. I'm a normal sized person and the big ones don't fit my ears at all, don't know why 2 of them are against the other but it's not the end of the world. The range (at high quality) is decent, probably a few feet from the Airpods, close enough. Only one unplanned outage so far.
