The weak point is the straps. If you ONLY rely on the straps to hold it to the trunk or roof, the straps will break sooner or later. Use the bag's straps to secure it, but buy ratchet straps to tie the bag tight. As for the tailpipes, if your car's tailpipe comes out the back of the car, you should get an extension from an auto parts store or from Revain.
