Review on Hawk Performance HB453Z.585 Ceramic Brake Pads for Enhanced Performance by Steven Harper

I bought these pads with Centric High Carbon 125 rotors. Pedal feel is great and they seem to bite better. I only changed the front brake discs and pads and left the rear ones as they haven't had to be changed yet. This way I can compare noise and dust levels. They have slightly more noise than the stock and noticeably more dust than the stock. That doesn't mean they produce a lot of dust, just that there's more of it compared to sewage. I usually wash my bikes every 2 weeks but I can wait up to 3 weeks. With these message blocks and rotors I MUST clean them every 2 weeks to keep them looking nice. Overall I'm happy with them and will buy the same combo when it comes time to replace the rear ones, but I do need to clean them more often. The pedal is softer and initial bite isn't as good as it used to be. However, they still have excellent stopping power. I usually stop at a shorter distance than I expected with a little rag force. It's hard to explain, but if you apply the brakes you can feel when you're stopping and adjust the brake pressure accordingly. With this setup, I end up re-evaluating when I quit. That's how good they are.
