Bought this part for a 2016 Ford Expedition. I updated the factory radio with the new Sync 3 software to run the Apply CarPlay app from the iPhone, but it didn't work with the factory installed USB ports. Research has suggested replacing this part. The distance was not easy for the expedition. To remove the protrusions on the original part, I had to partially disassemble the console. It was because I felt like I might scratch him or worse. It might not be necessary, but after 30 minutes of fiddling around it seemed like the best choice. But once it became free, the switch took less than a minute. After connecting the iPhone, it will be recognized immediately. The part looks the same as the replaced one and the build quality is the same. Very happy with it.
