This is my third. Finally fixed an issue that kept scratching or damaging screens, or at least I think so. The first one I bought was black in December 2015 and was $149. The next was purchased in November 2016 for $130. The most recent was sold in June 2017 for $110. If a product works as advertised and the quality matches the price, I usually give five stars first and then subtract stars for issues with usability, functionality, imperfections, quality, etc. First things first, scratches on the screen. This is a huge problem, and the worst part is that it's happening so slowly that you don't even realize it until it's too late. Once I tried to erase the "blot" but I couldn't. And that's all it looks like - a smudge - lest it ruin the screen, but it's enough that I've never put one of these older models on an iPad. I would rate the first two models I received 1 star - not safe to install on an iPad. However, once the damage was done, I just left it on. The case works like a dream. The backlight is very helpful. You never have to charge it, the buttons are responsive and the protection the case offers is second to none. That's why I needed three of them. One night I left my iPad on the roof of our jeep and my daughter drove the jeep to the store. I ran after her and found the iPad at the first intersection. The case itself was badly damaged, cracked and the like, but the iPad was fine. This happened after he fell off the roof of a jeep while driving. So, it definitely does its job of protecting the iPad from injury. Then I bought a red one that lasted another year or more. I dropped it on the hard tile floor and it landed on its corner. Again, the iPad was secure, but the corner of the case cracked and a few pieces of hard plastic fell off. Those hard plastic pieces were the buttons on the case that I used to operate the volume and power buttons. On the one hand, maybe a $130 case shouldn't snap off if it falls on a tile floor, but on the other hand, my iPad is fine. And I came right into that corner. I must add that I've dropped it a couple of times with no damage to the case. So I bought another black one, and when I put the iPad in it, I immediately noticed that they had changed the design so that the screen wasn't touching the case at all, anywhere. We added a few small plastic bumps to the perimeter of the case that are taller than the old models (photo attached). This should solve the problem of constant smearing of the screens. Cost is subjective considering I paid close to $500 to protect the iPad Pro. I think it's a bit overpriced, but the problem with Revain is that so many of their electronics are rebranded as unnamed brands, aided by tainted free product reviews, that I'd rather pay a little more for a known amount. like Logitech. The rating is as follows: Protection - five stars Functionality - five stars Value for money - four stars Design of the first two - one star (because it damaged the iPad) Design of the last ones - about five stars I give this an overall rating based on of the new design difficult. It clearly does its job of protecting the iPad from damage from falls. But the case itself is expensive, and while I think the redesign will prevent screen damage, I can't say for sure, so given all that, I'll give it four stars.
