My mom and I love quilting, but we don't like trying to stick a needle through layers with our bare fingers. I used regular metal thimbles but they were always uncomfortable and didn't fit well. I used my table to poke the needle through the fabric, but this method just wasn't ideal. I decided on a leather thimble and while searching I came across this list. I'm happy to report that the smaller leather thimble works well for my index finger and the larger one for my thumb. I also like the brass thimble, it has a little lip where my nail can rest comfortably. Both ringed thimbles seem more than adequate for the job. Just a set (2 leather, 1 brass, 2 rings) would have been good value but the company are offering a double set for the amount which makes it excellent value! I kept one set for myself and gave the other to my mum who was pleasantly surprised as she had wanted a leather thimble for a long time but ended up getting a lot more! I would definitely recommend this project if you're looking to get one of the thimble types in the kit, or if you're not sure which thimble type is right for you!
