Review on 🔧 Soldering... revolutionized: Discover the Ergonomic Temperature-Adjustable Wonder by Chris Hossain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is not suitable for use. usually included.

The price is great and don't expect much, I just want a cheap T12 base station in my arsenal. After 20 minutes with her: Bad: - Not ESD protected. The tip floats. Pin 3 - Connected to the spade terminal but not to chassis ground on the circuit board. You must add an internal chassis ground wire. The temperature at the outlet of the box is too high, for example 100°C higher. Explained in English, the adjustment can lower 30°C. To get the rest I had to fiddle with P1 and 2 which are not explained but which I understand to be the offset and gain for the thermocouple amplifier. There is no explanation or procedure. I did my best to do a 2 point calibration. That is a big problem. All settings are now moved to one side to lower the actual peak temperature. The supplied iron holders are of the same design and crappy. You do absolutely nothing, the iron just lies down and all hot surfaces are supported by a spring. Since it is not used. I had to bend the last few turns of this holder to make sure the hot parts weren't touching anything. - Cannot be set below 200°C (which means the one I received didn't drop below 300°C before calibration). Even after calibration, I would have preferred lower settings to be available. Good: - price - although the temperature is far away - it responds quickly and is quite stable. PID works. In the end I managed to calibrate it. Can be used as a kit to create your own station. For most casual users, this iron is a headache. This is absolutely necessary for the use of this station. I won't be returning it but if I had known about all these issues sooner - the price alone won't convince me to buy it. It uses Micro STC15F204EA i.e. Type 8051.
