To be honest this is a very well made collar. I actually switched to Max & Neo after adopting a dog from the shelter who wore it. I have had several of their collars and they are all great - "if". I now have a 1 year old puppy and have adopted an animal from the shelter as my companion. They play rough and the nylon buckle straps are pretty light and tough. Nylon buckle collars have an excellent locking mechanism. However, since I had to replace some of them, I chose this collar with a metal buckle. I didn't like that it didn't have a spare ring but the only reason I took a star off this collar when it was supposed to be a 5 star collar is because you just can't fine tune the size as fine as it can you can buckle it with a nylon can. If you have naughty dogs that have learned to pull the collar, a small gap between the two holes is enough to give them some wiggle room. Otherwise, I can definitely recommend this collar 100%.
