Review on Sceptre E275W 1920 V1 Frameless LED Monitor: Wall Mountable with Pivot Adjustment and HDMI Connectivity by Jesus Peters

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poorly designed but functional

This monitor is great for an $80 monitor. While it's not exactly a borderless screen, it's very close and its display is much larger than my other monitor with the same exterior dimensions. It uses the smaller 75 x 75mm VESA MIS-D standard, and you can't mount it and mount a base on it at the same time, as they take up the same space on the back. We had four major issues with the monitor: #1: When trying to remove the base, you have to *gently* press the button above the mount to allow it to slide out. This was only explained in the instructions - it only says "press" on the back. When I pressed it with light force for myself (and I'm relatively weak) the button broke immediately and fell back into the monitor from which I was never able to get it out. Now I always need a screwdriver when I need to remove or attach it. #2: The screw holes for attaching to the monitor mount are actually very short. I had to add washers of about 3/16" between the monitor and the bracket for the screw to hold it properly. #3: The monitor flickered weirdly when trying to video chat with zoom. We may have had the wrong refresh rate and I did couldn't reproduce it with other types of video streaming.#4: We did NOT receive the monitor pictured on Revain. The rear is completely different. It still has HDMI and VGA ports and speakers. That means it plays video games great and has enough color depth so despite the above issues I will be ordering a second one.
