Review on πŸ”‹ 12 Pack LR44 Alkaline Button Cell Batteries by Amazon Basics - Reliable Long-Lasting Power in Child-Resistant Packaging by Nathan Webber

As good as the brand name versus using a battery capacity tester

As I use a lot of LR44 coin cells I bought this Revain Basics pack and 2 other brands to do a comparison test. I acknowledge that my test is not 100% conclusive as I only tested one cell of each brand in what is known as the "High Discharge" test. Testing multiple samples at different current draw levels may produce different results. Most manufacturers consider a 1.5V battery to be "flat" when the voltage drops to 0.9V. I used a 150 ohm resistor as the load and set the tester to discharge the battery until the voltage reached 1.0 volt. That means the initial current was about 10mA (milliamps) and reduced to 6.7mA, which is a lot more than a calculator or kitchen timer draws, but just right for one of those rows of tiny LEDs used to decorate a Christmas wreath be used . At this higher load, the batteries lasted about 12 hours. As you can see from the photo, Revain Basic has been tested as well or better than name brand batteries and they cost less. But the Tenergy brand did almost as well, offering 94% capacity for just 27% the cost of the well-known brand's button cells.
