If you're using this on tripods with a landscape phone you should be fine. As other reviewers have said, this mount has absolutely no grip on your phone and will slide out. No matter how hard you press it while tightening the nut, it won't stay on your phone. The only way I've had moderate success is by using an Otter Box and Spec case. The phone itself and any smooth surface case will not hold in this holder. I would never use this mount for portraits or photography. I bought it mainly for the mounts which work well for lights and mics. I'm not sure if the base of my lights is a bit larger or if the mounts on this rig are a bit small, but they don't work well for a cold shoe mount. The microphone fits well, but the buyer beware that some cold shoe mounts are not suitable for it.
