I am new to photography and videography. I shake a lot so the purchase was the best I've ever had. At first I was planning on going metal, but I had a feeling it would be heavy and I'd be moving a lot. But it works well here and that's enough.

This is exactly what is shown in the picture and using or removing the phone case will likely help you better fit the phone during installation. It's safe for me on two different phones as long as I have a case. So they probably planned to use it that way. That's a good chunk to start with.

I use this with my iPhone 11 Max. It already has great image stabilization, but this setup allows for much better performance when walking or even running. I like that I can add a microphone or a light from above. I love that I can mount the tripod plate on the bottom or back for vertical shooting/photography. It's very simple but very effective.

If you're using this on tripods with a landscape phone you should be fine. As other reviewers have said, this mount has absolutely no grip on your phone and will slide out. No matter how hard you press it while tightening the nut, it won't stay on your phone. The only way I've had moderate success is by using an Otter Box and Spec case. Works great with my Samsung S20 for preparing worship materials. Love is all about versatility, but you have to press hard before screwing the device in because it will still slip into the vise. Also the plastic has yet to be seen how durable it is but it held up after a month.

When I clamped my phone, there was no way I could clamp it tight enough to hold it. It just slipped right out. Very good option for the mobile phone when taking videos or photos. The material is plastic, not aluminum, so keep that in mind. It's not as strong as aluminum but much lighter.
