Bought to try 3D. It sounded like fun. I've never gotten that far. I already had a cheap Bomaker Parrot One. and it's better than this Optoma HD146X in many ways. I have a good ATMOS Surround System, so the internal speakers aren't that important. BUT. BUT when it comes to total crap, Optoma wins! Bomaker sounds good, Optoma sounds VERY awful. The zoom wheel does nothing. BS zoom wheel. I can't believe they're getting away with this. The color wheel sounds like it's about to fly away. and the heat radiating from the underside of this thing could start a fire. The Optoma HD146X lens is angled at 15 degrees. So if you use it directly. (NOT) Adjustable rubber feet are very important. What you have is a joke. one in front and only one in back. I'm not sure who designed it. but they should definitely be fired. Likewise. I remember seeing a photo with 4 (four) adjustable rubber feet. ?Picture quality. If there really is a better resolution, more contrast and brightness. It is not worth. After all. I switched on the old Bomaker and was pleasantly surprised. So the remote control and the OSD are also shit. So many disappointments. I guess it must go out so quickly because the backlight is so bright. Here again. I have to compare it to something "very cheap" that actually works very well. Of course, that annoys me at Optoma. :-(I was very excited about the Optoma HD146X. On paper. Fair warning. Don't buy. And now. I'm seeing reports of accepted returns being officially delivered by UPS with no refund! OMG! UPDATE: Today is the 4th. February. In two different emails from two different "customer service reps" promised I would receive an authorized return by today. You know what? Nothing! another rep. Start over. I got the item immediately sent it back next day. Revain received it on Wednesday 1:00pm, January 27. Revain won't even check it! Nothing. Absolutely no response from Revain on anything. Do I really need my $528? I wouldn't ask more than $250 Pay dollars. Revane deserves a lawsuit.
