Warning, this has very specific assembly requirements

I bought this based on the reviews. I adjusted it and it's definitely a nice bright image. Everything was great until I realized that the picture showing the mounting options is literal. The bottom of the screen is strictly horizontal to the top of the table on which the projector is installed. The manual is very clear: do not use the projector in any position other than a table or ceiling mount. The projector must be level and not tilted forward/backward or left/right. Any other orientation…

CHEAP COUNTERFEIT AND ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

This projector was pretty good for the first few months but now only about 7 months later a handful of dead pixels are appearing almost daily. I already have dozens of dead pixels and it is clear that the image will soon disappear. I've been looking for a new projector less than a year after purchasing it and will NOT be looking at this brand. I called customer service as this projector is only 7 months old. I was redirected, I waited 20 minutes and no one answered, then I left a voice message…

Not bad for the price but I wouldn't recommend it

We've been using projectors in place of TVs in our home for about 15 years and this is our third. Our Panasonic and Epson projectors have lasted for years, but we've had to change the bulbs several times. The promise of very long lamp life and the good price convinced me to try Optoma. The brightness is excellent, the picture is very good, but there is a potentially serious problem: a flickering stripe, about 100-150 lines high, that periodically appears everywhere. screen in different places…

Plan to always get angry before watching a 3D movie!

Projector is bright and picture worthy for DLP.3D WARNING, this projector has an annoying green screen (picture shown) that appears before a distorted 3D image. You must pause the 3D movie. Turn OFF the projector, then turn ON the projector and it will clean it. Optima has no idea what's going on (never seen before). They expect me to send the projector in for repair after I just bought a new one from Amazon! Did you think they would replace him? NO! And customer service only directs you to…

Super disappointing experience

Bought to try 3D. It sounded like fun. I've never gotten that far. I already had a cheap Bomaker Parrot One. and it's better than this Optoma HD146X in many ways. I have a good ATMOS Surround System, so the internal speakers aren't that important. BUT. BUT when it comes to total crap, Optoma wins! Bomaker sounds good, Optoma sounds VERY awful. The zoom wheel does nothing. BS zoom wheel. I can't believe they're getting away with this. The color wheel sounds like it's about to fly away. and the…

HD146X Great out of the box. Cross your fingers.

This HD146X replaces a 5-6 year old Optoma 520 which eventually ran into a problem and only produced a faded pink image. Choose this latest model with similar specifications. i am a researcher You know who you are like me. Especially with such serious purchases that cost more than 300-400 dollars and are technical and electronic. There are so many options today. I received this device today and one day from Revain. Cool! Out of the box, the immediate difference to our old Optoma 529 was the…

The picture looks great to me. Happy with the purchase.

I bought this knowing it was only a native 1080p projector and didn't support 4K. It is, but it lowers it. 4K projectors are still very expensive and there isn't much content yet, so I haven't turned them off. Most of the reviews about picture quality, features, etc. are correct, so I won't go into too much detail. I have a 2010 Samsung 1080p 46" 3D TV that I'm using for comparison purposes. So with that in mind, I'm sharing my hands-on experience to help you decide whether you should buy this…
