I've used several types of beard balm so far. My regular brand Honest Amish is good and keeps your beard very soft but stays greasy all day and doesn't give you enough hold for crazy hair. Smooth Viking doesn't do anything for me except a little smell. It rubs in and after a short time it seems as if it had never been there. This material will soften your beard but appears to contain some wax or something to help shape your beard. It doesn't stay oily all day like Honest Amish. The smell is good on both versions I've tried so far and I think that's all they do. have used for the last few years.
