Review on 🏎️ Revolutionize Your Racing Experience with the Next Level Racing Steering Wheel Stand (NLR-S002) by Brandon Patterson

A great concept marred by awkward ergonomics, quality control issues, and questionable design choices.

I still doubt if it will replace my Wheelstand Pro, although this rig just flew out of the water for a number of reasons. But there are some very important considerations that may be crucial for some. Pros: + No center post to get in the way of heel/toe braking or left foot braking + Shifter bracket ergonomically places the shifter where it should be, with plenty of framing to mount a handbrake if desired. + Surprisingly strong. It literally feels like I'm driving a full size car, it's so solid. NOT so stable platform + Bulletproof construction. It will outlive me and generations to come + Folds up like a step stool and hangs on the wall, which cannot be said of other foldable wheeled coasters CONS: - Expensive. At $250, it's more than other wheel-carrier alternatives, and it's starting to cross the line into the enthusiast category, dominated by larger, more comfortable, and more productive setups. The wheelbase setting is disappointing. While you can lower/raise the base, the spacing also changes, which is very annoying. No tilt adjustment. The pedal base adjustment is also disappointing. You can push/pull but the corner is locked. With Logitech pedals that already have a camber, this is uncomfortable in most desk chair configurations. Thrustmaster/Fanatec pedals aren't too bad - no rubber padding. The lower frame is covered with a material that resembles a hard yoga mat. This rig glides like crazy on hard surfaces. It actually only works on carpet or rubber mat/carpet. Ergonomically, it seems designed for low-profile chairs. Regular-height desk chairs can cause you to bang your knees on the handlebars, depending on how tall or tall you are. In many positions, the pedals are at an odd angle unless you're sitting at a severe incline. - The build quality is questionable. Thread failure in one of the levers supporting the wheelbase, leaving only one lever locked in position. An annoying knock occurs every time the FFB is triggered, making the gameplay quite loud. The replacement I was sent had no defective threads but had crooked welds so it wasn't flush with the floor. Despite significant limitations, I mastered the setup and am basically satisfied with the result. It's okay to use a low-profile chair while sitting in a heavily reclined position, F1-style. But the lack of customization and quality control issues leave me blown away by the price.
