K&N fan performance / cold air intake. Toyota 4Runner Limited 2016 version.

K&N cold air intake for 2016 4Runner does not fit as perfectly as advertised. Parts are present and of good quality. The instructions were written by a not very smart employee. You must use the online video, included user guide and online installation guide to hopefully understand your installation. Nuts, bolts, and washers that K&N refers to as "included hardware" do not specify which nuts, bolts, and washers to use for the various parts of the setup. It's entirely up to you. Much luck. with this. The crankcase ventilation is too high on the intake pipe and prevents the installation of the engine cover. You will need to cut a suitable piece from the engine cover to ensure a tight fit. The heat shield doesn't fit as advertised so I had to omit one of the screws. K&N does not recommend removing the heat shield, which raises the question of how cold air stays cold by drawing hot air from the engine compartment. After installing the engine cover, I started the engine. The engine now has a distinct roar. I took it for a test ride and immediately noticed a noticeable increase in throttle response. When I pressed the gas pedal a little harder, there was a roar and acceleration. As for the run, there's no jury, we'll see. Alright guys I just finished my 100 mile km test on the 4Runner. A freeway run of about 50 miles gave me 20.4 mpg, while my best overall result before the K&N installation was 17.9. Driving home through stop-and-go cities, my mileage was 21.6mpg. Now it could be because of how I drive. I drove in the green lane most of the time, that's how I drive. When you step on the pedal hard, you hear a powerful roar - like a Mustang in the heat - and you accelerate quickly to the desired mark. Thus, acceleration increases and mpg decreases. In summary, experts who say K&N brings no benefits to CAI may depend on whether your vehicle is an SUV or a car. All I can say is that my 2016 Toyota 4Runner turned out to be positive. Very happy with the results. Watch after.
