Review on Cat Ears AirStreamz Cycling Noise Reducer by Scot Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprise! Works, but not complete silence.

I ordered this on a whim, I admit I didn't have high hopes for this product when I ordered it. The bottom line is it works, follow the directions and it will reduce wind gusts and turbulence in your ears. On the road for 20 miles at 18 mph in a cross wind it really reduced the noise caused by tinnitus turbulence. Turn your head to the side or tilt your head down to sprint and let the wind come back. There is nothing surprising. You want the straps to be tight enough for the catears to fit snugly against your cheeks. Otherwise, air will get under the fur, causing turbulence in the ears and giving no target. If you have crosswinds, you will hear turbulence in your ear on the windward side, as the air deviates not from the direction but from the direction of the catears. It's amazing how much noise it removes when riding upwind or on a windless day. It's not exactly quiet, but it does what the company advertises - it significantly reduces turbulence/ringing in the ears. Cars and other cyclists seemed to sound louder when I first tried it. I heard the cyclist slip into my draft before I saw his shadow. I wouldn't normally see that in wind. Surprisingly good results - worth a try. Yes; Your shadow makes you look like Elvis in a helmet.
