Cat Ears New Airstreamz Slim bike mufflers really work!

I used to use Cat Ears noise cancellers but this new slim version works very well. I like the new way of sewing on the velcro and they are longer and go further down the helmet strap Earmuffs. To see how well they work, just lift your helmet strap and hear how much wind noise passes your ear without them, and they also help you hear traffic coming from behind with less wind noise and a safer ride.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Modern

Efficiency depends on your helmet straps and the wind

The instructions have instructions for a loose or tight strap, but basically you just attach it to your helmet straps by threading the material around the Straps wrap and fasten with Velcro. If it's in the 'right' position it will have an effect, but the correct position can vary wildly depending on the wind etc. For my purposes, I regularly/constantly ride the Bay Trail, which is exposed to open water and crosswinds of 5-15 knots. There is no magic silence. Let's see how they hold up over…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Fairly ok

May work depending on helmet. Not well done.

If your helmet straps are snug against the skin they work great, if not they are mediocre and require a lot of adjustment. I have a cheap standard Bell road bike helmet in which they reduce noise by 50% while they barely work with my fancy Lazer Anverz e-bike helmet. Also, these things appear to be just the soft side of the Velcro and not even very well finished (stitching, materials, etc.). It probably costs a penny to make, but they charge over $15. You should at least add a few extra pairs.

What an improvement!

I got these to use with the Trekz Titanium headphones as the wind noise was overwhelming when riding. They really help, up to about 25 mph. At this point, headphone size wins, bringing turbulence and wind noise back, but not as much as usual. Without headphones, cat-ears work great at all speeds. They look a bit silly, but I really like being able to hear traffic and conversations with other riders clearly through the wind, and the noise cancellation is good for my morale on long rides.

  • So far so good

Works mediocre, slightly overpriced

I definitely hear some reduction in wind noise, but I'd say they only work "moderately". Part of the drop in performance is because I often ride drops with my head down. As a result, the wind does not blow directly in front, but partly over the edge of the helmet (like diagonally from above). This is obviously not a direct fault of the product, but makes it less useful to me. And since the material costs are well below 1€, I find the price a bit high. I'll probably look for similar material and

Surprise! Works, but not complete silence.

I ordered this on a whim, I admit I didn't have high hopes for this product when I ordered it. The bottom line is it works, follow the directions and it will reduce wind gusts and turbulence in your ears. On the road for 20 miles at 18 mph in a cross wind it really reduced the noise caused by tinnitus turbulence. Turn your head to the side or tilt your head down to sprint and let the wind come back. There is nothing surprising. You want the straps to be tight enough for the catears to fit…

Reduces wind noise at 45 km/h (e-bike) to a usable range

This product works very well. It's easy to install and operate, and wind noise is now in a comfortable range. Wind noise is noticeably reduced by the product, but not more. I started riding a fast pedal electric bike a few months ago and noticed a lot of wind noise reaching 28 mph. I started to worry because it's easy to sustain this rate for a long time and I realized that I could be at risk of hearing loss. So I did a little research on the internet to find out that the wind noise on a bike…
