The product works as advertised and I highly recommend it. As mentioned, one downside is removing the orange caps on each end, which isn't easy. I bought transformers to light up the LED washers in the kitchen cabinet. Although one transformer could handle the load, I bought two so I could light each closet separately. Transformers work well with a dimmer, even in very dim light. I can't say anything about the durability as the lights have just been installed. Since I don't take any risks with electricity, a craftsman did the wiring and installation. Getting the entire project to work, including under the counter, took some effort and skill.
