I bought this pan on purpose because it was advertised as being induction compatible. When it didn't work on my induction stovetop I decided to see if the magnet would stick to this pan. To my surprise, not even the rare earth magnet stuck. Any pan that a magnet sticks to will work on an induction cooktop (including my old cast iron pans). I'm wondering if a factory in China used cheaper steel to make this pan at such a low price as that's the only logical explanation I can think of. This requires an investigation by Cuisinart's purchasing department (or a person responsible for purchasing in their overseas factories). What was once known for excellence and quality has definitely been damaged.
