I needed a new bag that could be used for shopping or whatever and I decided to give this one a try. It was a bit bigger than I wanted, but it's sturdy and can withstand heavy loads (spilling, stepping on, or sitting down). I found the back strap to be an added bonus - maybe it said so in the description but I missed it, but sometimes it's nice to be able to put your hand through to hold the bag. The construction is solid and the zippers can outlive my daughter and I, they are that good. And nobody gave me a bag for this review, I wasn't paid or encouraged to write this. I just love the bag.
