Great Toys: Playsets

We bought this for our son's 2nd birthday. He loves toy animals and this was definitely a hit. He stopped opening presents after opening this one because he was willing to play with it. We've had him for about eight months now and he still plays with him often. It's well preserved and he keeps finding things related to it. At first he just enjoyed opening doors and stuffing animals into them. Now he's talking about the next one in the hayloft (although he's not bringing a chicken) and feeding his horse in the grain bin on the side. It's also become a haven for his 5-year-old brother's characters, so he's a hit at our house. I was concerned about the quality and durability but when the item arrived I was very impressed. Holds up with no problems. I'm shocked that it only cost about $20 before tax for the quality. My only complaint has more to do with my son than the product, but the floor on one side of the barn slides under the floor on the other side when closing, so if the animals are on the bottom it won't close until you do all move. Not a big problem unless your 2 year old wants them on the wrong side and cries when you move their animals. However, you can't just slam it with animals in it. It's easier to close and then slide in all the little critters it's a little annoying in but not deducting a star in my book. The play lessons he gave to my two children were fantastic and I have no doubt he will take a baby with him too. He came with some animals and a farmer. We bought a second set (from a competitor) of farm animals and now the barn is full including a chicken for the nest.
