The manual does not say how to get it to scan hands free as described on the Amazon page and support has not responded. It also has a much shorter range (30 to 50 feet, more if aimed straight at the base, but if you go behind a shelf it's out of range) and doesn't load a barcode onto the screen when scanning. out of its range and moves within its range as described. In other words, if it's out of range, instead of beeping, it should go into inventory mode and save the barcode, and then when it moves into its range, instead of beeping again, it should go into normal mode switch and download the barcode . barcodeScanner must also be within 4 inches of the barcode or it will not scan.
