I wasn't thrilled at first. I thought: WHAT DIRT! The package comes without instructions as if you need instructions anyway. But yes you do! You should crumple and massage these bags and then force them into your shoes. As if the massage activates the charcoal. But yes, they work. The odor is neutralized. You just don't smell anything until you put your shoes back on and they stink.
