I bought this with a large 3 piece ceiling light and am very happy with it. When I first opened the box I thought it was plastic, but on closer inspection I found it was light metal with a plastic coating on the cage part. I also thought it would look cheap but it isn't. They look like the heavy metal they once hung and are perfect for my sunny, vintage Mexican themed room. I hung mine with the light up instead of down and the light is adjustable so it moves straight ahead or any other position. I will say that the little screw that keeps it where you want it is a bit flimsy because it can't be over tightened. Otherwise, I am very satisfied. All those little screws everyone is talking about are cap screws that are hand tight, require no tools, and are easy to install. I use Edison LED bulbs so it still takes a long time to replace them.
