The raised "ribs" make it quite thick and my KitchenAid induction hob pulses and reduces heat output, even with a cast iron skillet, compared to my previous thinner one Mat. What I usually cook at power 4 I need to increase to 6-7 which of course is a higher rating from the glass side than what they are designed for. They are 1/8" thick at the ridges (0.125 accurate on my calipers). While I'm sure they'll last longer than my previous rugs, for my cooktop I'm going back to the previous thinner brand I used. which have to be changed every year but I didn't even notice they were there.
