Money well spent on heating, cooling and air quality

If you search the internet for moisture and you will get the opinion of everyone and their brethren. Someone needs relative humidity, someone needs a dew point. Both have their advantages in terms of what you relate them to. I want to remove moisture from the air here in Pennsylvania where humidity is a problem, especially during the summer months. Our apartment is half underground and this humidity causes mold which is unhealthy and also destroys personal belongings. The first day of using this device, it removed 1 1/2 cups of water from the air in the first 12 hours. I measured it to the last ounce. Turned it off overnight for safety reasons and then turned it back on. In 5 days of use it removed at least 3/4 cup of water per day. I'd also like to mention that we don't have an exhaust fan in the bathroom to remove hot, humid air from the shower, and we have a 20-gallon aquarium that also increases the humidity. The room temperature is usually low until the mid 70's. and with this device there is no more stuffiness that was before. Now I would also like to state that I did not lock the apartment as tightly as a drum. On cooler nights I open the windows and use 2 fans to exchange the air in the room. I do this at night when I'm not working, and the amount of moisture collected the next day is about 1/4 more than non-ventilated days. So I'm guilty of letting moisture out, but I need cooler night air for comfort. Fair deal and win, win for me with this device. Breathing is better than before. It doesn't feel as warm and stuffy, and mold/fungus doesn't have the necessary conditions to survive. I also want to say that the box says it stands for 2200ft3. If I'm not mistaken, the 3 stands for cubic feet, not square feet. Our living space is approximately 2200 square feet, so I have no doubts about the recommended area. So if you are asking if the price is worth it I would buy it again. I would do your damn sound without hesitation. This part addresses some of the feedback about the unit being wet under the tank when draining. Expect this if you've just turned it off. The machine will continue to run until it cools down. It will fall until it cools down. Compare this to turning off the water from the garden hose and then pulling the trigger. You know what's gonna happen. Just wipe the inside of the case dry and stop clinging to it. Next, in an update, I will be talking about the difficulty some seem to be having when removing the drain plug. Is it necessary for operation? Stay with us. I will keep updating this review regarding the performance of this device as well as its durability. And in case you're wondering, no, I'm not affiliated with this company, I get no credit for this review. And rest assured, 5 stars might as well become 1 star if the product deserves it! Update: 7/18/17 - Yesterday the 17th I removed the drain plug from the tank and left the unit running overnight without it. In the morning I took about 1/2 glass of water. As far as I can tell the drain plug has nothing to do with the operation of this machine. I'm not sure if this might affect the full tank shutdown feature as I haven't tested this yet but plan to do so very soon. Updated 9/4/17. Using a paper towel will help remove the drain plug. Just get it under your thumb and the edge of the connector and it should pop out fairly easily. Whatever material you choose, it works just as well. If you still have problems with it, just uninstall it completely. I have not seen any adverse installation issues. So I've had this little car for about 4 months now. Still working like a champ. I turn it off every day just to empty the tank, which only takes two or three minutes. Moisture uptake has decreased mainly due to the lower humidity here in the PA, and also because it is less available to her from the environment. I'm still averaging 1 1/2 cups a day so it's still doing fine. I plan on running this machine all the time in the fall/winter and if I don't have any problems this will be the last update for it. I feel like I've already received my money for the summer months.
