Not Impressive: Some are better than others but lack metal particles

Some Martha Stewart Crafts paints are better than others. I have Metallic Rose Gold and Metallic Copper and they are both a bit disappointing. Of the two, copper is much better than rose gold - it has more of a metallic sheen. Compared to rose gold, there are almost no metallic particles, so unless you look at it at just the right angle, it only looks caramel brown in bright light. Also copper, by the way, unless you use a heavy hand and paint in thick layers. When light hits the color directly, copper is a normal mid-tone copper color that is more bronze than pink. Rose gold is not what I was hoping for. It's a slightly pinkish metallic champagne beige, but I was hoping for a more realistic rose gold color, leaning toward rose gold or pale pink copper gold. It's not like this. I also have the regular Martha Stewart Craft paint finish non-metallic satin and gloss black and both are very good so your mileage may vary. Too bad I didn't go with the DecoArts Dazzling Metallics line, which I've heard does a better job of creating a metallic sheen. Unfortunately, the colors in the photos I took look a lot nicer than they really are. I think it's just how the camera picks up the reflections, but to the naked eye both colors look like caramelized brownish specks.
