This is probably the 7th or 8th pair of Merrell shoes I've bought over the years and my second pair this month. Bought these to balance color options for my "wardrobe". They are the same as most Merrells which means excellent IMO. The asymmetrical black rubber sock isn't for everyone, so I went with a darker color. Like many Merrell running shoes, it has a Vibram sole so it offers good traction even on wet surfaces. Buyers should be aware that they are not as gray as the pictures show. In my opinion they are more of an olive green than grey, which suits me well. Merrell and Salomon are the only shoes I currently buy. However, Merrell soles wear better than Salomons, which appear to use a softer rubber compound.
