Review on ๐Ÿ”ต Frigidaire 154568002 Dishwasher Lower Wash Arm Assembly - High-performance Single Unit in Sleek Grey Design by Nate Skinner

Replaces useless lower orbital washer atomizer

Delivered and works as promised This replaced the blue/GRAY lower orbital washer atomizer which lasted less than 3 years and was replaced by another NEW orbital puck arm next year which I bought from Revain for $35 and can you believe it? This did NOT work (water sprayed through the sphere, but the GRAY arm that had the blue orbital disk attached WAS NOT rotated 360 degrees in any of the 3 water pressure modes). VERY DISAPPOINTED! I also bought and replaced the windshield washer pump motor ($75 bought from Revain) thinking it might have been taken off after 4 years which would explain the lack of pressure to rotate the GRAY orbit alarm 360 degrees which didn't help you want kidding me Frigider? I didn't have the heart to send the new motor back to Revain and get my money back so I swallowed my pride and just replaced it. FYI, there are some decent tutorial videos on YouTube on how to replace a dishwasher pump. If you originally installed a dishwasher, the replacement will take less than an hour. Otherwise I would NOT try unless I have a lot of electrical and plumbing experience. Bought/replaced in the last 20 years. The first two were high-end dishwashers (the Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool each retailed for around $1200), both of which unfortunately lasted around 8 years each with normal use! For real? 8 years? ok dude Is that ALL we can expect from a dishwasher's life expectancy? Are you kidding? My father-in-law's heavy duty dishwasher from the mid 80's works like clockwork without the old fashioned start buttons. I figured why pay around $1000 for another high end dishwasher when you can get a Fridgiaire dishwasher for around $600. MISS MY BADLY PAID HALF MONEY AND HAVE HALF A LIFE. I think this is how we as consumers manage the market: by buying spares from time to time or assuming the 'new normal' is buying a new normal wear and tear dishwasher every 4-8 years. I suppose I could hand wash all my dishes, uh, maybe not. Seriously, does anyone have similar issues/lifetime with the orbital spray arm on their Frigidaire dishwasher or other dishwashers?

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
