I bought this for my dachshund but it barely fits. It weighs 14 pounds, I know it's rated at 13 pounds but figured it couldn't hurt. And if it doesn't work on him, it will work on my 9 pound dachshund, which it does. But it suits them oddly. There is cardboard or something on the bottom of the backing to flatten it, but it's not strong enough to actually hold it flat. Therefore, when my dogs are in it, it still becomes a bag and they are kind of awkward in it. In general, it serves its purpose, but I think the design of the floor should be better thought out. and also the extension on the strap should give a little more space. I'm between 5 and 11 years old and he hits me in a weird spot above my thigh, about halfway down my stomach, so it's weird for me to own a dog. Maybe have the strap lengthen another 7-8 inches!
